Climate & Weather Guide in Egypt
Climate zones, seasonal temperatures, rainfall patterns, and best travel times
Egypt is dominated by a hot desert climate, with a narrow Mediterranean-influenced strip along the north coast and much drier conditions across the interior, Nile Valley, and deserts. For residents and expats, this means very sunny summers, mild winters in most populated areas, and little rainfall outside the Mediterranean coast. The most comfortable places are usually near the Mediterranean shoreline, the Nile Delta, or higher-elevation Sinai areas where temperatures are less extreme. Egypt is also one of the sunniest countries in the region, with humidity highest near the coast and the Delta and much lower inland.
