Bundesministerium der Verteidigung (BMVg)
The Bundesministerium der Verteidigung (BMVg), or Federal Ministry of Defence, is the German government department responsible for military affairs and defence policy. Established in 1955, it oversees the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces), manages defence budgets, and implements national security strategies in accordance with NATO and EU commitments. The ministry is headed by the Federal Minister of Defence, a cabinet-level position, and maintains headquarters in Berlin, with additional offices in Bonn. It plays a central role in Germany's defence procurement, military personnel management, and international defence cooperation.
