Community of Portuguese Language Countries

The Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) is an international organization founded in 1996 that brings together nine sovereign nations where Portuguese is an official language: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe. The organization promotes political and diplomatic cooperation, economic development, cultural exchange, and the preservation of the Portuguese language among member states, while also facilitating dialogue on shared interests and regional stability.
