German Language Proficiency Levels
German Language Proficiency Levels refer to standardized frameworks that measure and classify a person's ability to understand, speak, read, and write German. The most widely recognized system is the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which divides proficiency into six levels: A1 and A2 (beginner), B1 and B2 (intermediate), and C1 and C2 (advanced). These levels are used internationally by educational institutions, employers, and immigration authorities to assess language competency, determine course placement, and evaluate readiness for professional or academic purposes in German-speaking countries.
